Again, regarding cooling system.
What we are going to show you is the end result of lack of maintenance on the cooling system on late model car.
Everyone thinks that they can drive their cars forever because they have a lot of kilometers.
This vehicle has over-heated because the customer didn’t service it correctly at the right intervals.
A simple $15 heater hose failed and cooked the engine.
The end results are $7,000 in repairs.
Later we are doing head replacement and timing chain replacement from the lack of servicing. That’s why a preventive maintenance is so much cheaper than waiting until it fails.
This is the timing chain set up. They wear the little pins in the chains. They wear away the gears.
In the normal course, you just have to replace them. But what we are just showing you here is we’re stripping the whole engine to complete the repair.
It didn’t have to be done this way if the vehicle was serviced regularly and correctly. All because it blew a little heater hose which should have been replaced – a very cheap component. This would have been picked up in the regular service that was missed.
But instead, the vehicle has gone 10,000kms overdue, causing this issue.
The car has only a hundred and twenty thousand kilometers on it, and it’s now a major repair.
What should you do now?
- If you do not want major repair bills, make sure you give your car regular maintenance.
- And then replace what’s needed to be replaced.
